Emu4iOS has shown itself to be one of the better Cydia alternatives to date. It offers pretty much what all the external installers offer – access to thousands of apps and games, some of them modified like Snapchat++, WhatsApp++ and Pokémon Go++, and many that you can’t find in the official app store. But, unlike the others, it also offers one more type of content – several games emulators that provide access to console games on our iOS devices.
However, while it is popular and while most users have had great success with it, one error does seem to keep popping up. It’s an Untrusted Enterprise Developer error that stops you from using Emu4iOS apps.
What is The Untrusted Developer Error ?
The Untrusted Developer Error message appears because Apple doesn’t know the developer, therefore they do not trust the source. This happens when you install external apps or installers like Emu4iOS, normally when you use a tool like Cydia Impactor to sideload an unofficial app onto your device. These are safe apps but they are of a type that Apple does not allow into the app store, hence the error message. You will be pleased to learn that it is an easy fix though.
How to Fix the Untrusted Developer Error on Emu4iOS :
After you have installed Emu4iOS onto your device, don’t open it. Before you do that, you need to tell Apple that the developer is a trusted one and that is very easy to do:
- Open your iOS Settings app
- Navigate your way through General into Profiles and Device Management
- There, you will see all your app certificates; scroll through until you find the profile for the app and tap it
- Tap the Trust button and you should now see its status change to read Delete
- Close your Settings app, go to your home page and tap the Emu4iOS icon , you should find that it works perfectly
What To Do If You Can’t Find the App Profile :
There have been reports from some people that they have followed the steps above but cannot find the Emu4iOS profile in the list in their Settings app. There is only one cause for this to happen – Emu4iOS was never properly installed. The only way to fix it is to install Emu4iOS apps again, following the linked steps carefully and then follow the tutorial above once more – the profile should now be there and you can trust it so you can use the installer permanently.
Did this work for you ? These should be the only steps you need to get Emu4iOS working on your device. Let us know if you have encountered any other problems with Emu4iOS and follow us on Facebook to stay updated.
